Teaser

This is the new online blog for Jo. Formerly of Virgogal.

As the title suggests, its only temporary until I get my own domain and new site up and running. In the mean time I’ll do what I do best and blather on about random things (take the image I’ve posted for example), possibly some Buffy and leftist banther.

Much later on, this may just become a travel diary, if ever get the finances to go on my graff-kwest tour around the world.

Take care.

Cheers kids.

Happy Holidays, YO!

Top 5 All Time Best Xmas Carols (High Fidelity style):
1. Last Christmas – WHAM!
2. Happy Christmas (War is Over) – John Lennon
3. White Christmas – Bing Crosby
4. Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer
5. Jingle Bells

At the risk of being uncool, WHAM! is sitting nice and perkily on my list. Fantastic video! Ski fields, warm log fires, orange tanned George Michael with Andrew G’s hairstyle and boofy haired chicks. Brilliant!

I’m aiming to head to some Boxing Day sales tomorrow, but have a feeling they are starting on the 27th. That sucks a little as I have an overwhelming urge to congratulate myself for working with screaming babies and their flustered parents for three weeks taking Santa photos.

Have a Cool Yule!

unnnngh…

So sketchy and light-headed right now. I don’t know how I’m staring back at the glare of the computer monitor. Had SUCH a big few days – nothing involving uni at all I’m afraid though. Unngh!

THURSDAY
Koren’s 22nd birthday @ Bar Cleveland. Got a little trashy with the ole Hoyts folks. Finally had a few shot offs with Moakley with was a long time coming.
Em arrived, stayed, we drank and went to Townies for more drinks with her Dendy folks. (Oh these little cinema families) Got to know them a little better, and was totally wasted but had a really really good time. It’s been a while since my last drinking binge. Took so many trashy/lovely pics and movies – makes for an amuseing past-time the morning after when you see yourself doing/saying things you don’t remember…
- I was also planning to go to the Sarah McLeod Metro show that night but it got cancelled early in the day. Bummer.

FRIDAY
One hangover and a Hillary Duff film later it was: The Garbage concert! Wooo! Yes it was very cool, but then Shirley Manson is the coolest Rock Chick with a thick Scottish accent and lots of stage presence (somthing the support band Silo were most definitly lacking). Lovin it, dude. It was their last show on their Bleed Like Me tour, so they played most of their classics (oh so kickin’), the newbies, and I bought myself a Garbage/Shirley Manson Tee to commermorate the event. It was a pretty cool crowd as well as the show had (surprisingly) not sold out [I think the record company just refused to do the bare minimum in promoting this tour - suckage], and it was quite varied – old, young, metros, rockrs, queers and straights. A few people even complimented me on my Degrassi Junior High Tee. The crowd was very well behaved, and I think now that I’m getting older (and slowly moving closer to the comfort of the bleachers), that all gigs should be for 21 Year Olds and over *chuckles*.
The funniest thing that happened was when their setlist screwed up, they ended up having to halt the entire show until they fixed it, in the meantime Shirely Manson took some requests for songs from the crowed. One of the guys was a hard-core oldskool fan and requested Kick My Ass, a very old B-side that not even the band could remember, so the “deb-arr-cool” led to him requesting another rare b-side and once again no one in the band remembered it enough to be able to play – this time the lyric book came out onto the stage to help them out, but they didnt even have them in there! Classic! It was great, I’ve NEVER seen a band forget entire songs, or misunderstand their setlists. [A close one was when Sarah McLeod back in her Superjesus days forgot the words to Gravity]

SATURDAY
I spent yesterday chillin out in the day, while I prepared to go camping! I know, random… but I knew something was going to happen, as it was Ben’s birthday, and in true Benny style we did something different. So camping in Kurrajong it was! We got some firewood, tarps and sleeping bags and the 8 of us just got silly and trashy. Nature is cool.

SUNDAY
Return. Recovery. Rest.
I had to postpone my picnic for another time as I knew this camping thing was going to take it’s toll on me, and it was supposed to rain… and some people that wanted to come, weren’t able to due to the short notice. So standby for more info soon.

MONDAY
Detox yoga.

Voluntary Student Unionism, Brendan Nelson and Hockey

While VSU looms over my current job and Uni (I’ll probably be made redundant!), I thought this was very funny:

This was taken at a hockey game on Sunday night at the north Ryde hockey grounds, at a game between Macquarie Uni and UTS women’s hockey. Dr Nelson’s daughter was playing later that night.

Some t-shirts i think are pretty.

n these images are cool too. one is a random amended road sign in newtown – note the people holding machine guns. Also Em and Way did a stencil for my 21st last year (speaking of bdays)

This entry is as ugly as bat dung, but i can post piccies! UNNNGGGH
