in japan - figures are bad guestimates as i’m bad at math and figures are based on 1999 and 2006 figures. that’s pretty bad so then suicide pacts = 0.064495183 deaths??

I think that it would be a good idea to just leave each other alone. If a person wants to be emo let them. Its not hurting anyone. Its only hurting the emos that cut themselves and take drastic measures to kill them selves.

I don’t care if you mock me or call me names, whatever, it doesn’t matter. Just stop talking about it like you know or care about anything we are.
And for the record.. not all emos dress the same, talk the same, listen to the same music, cut themselves, etc.. the main thing we have in common is problems with our lives, and a lack of motivation to keep trying. If the pain gets TOO bad, we cut ourselves.. *not all of us*. It’s not for attention or even to kill ourselves necessarily.. it’s just one way of relieving emotional pain.. by moving the focus to physical pain. as the blood drains out, you get into a sort of trance, feeling like all your troubles are flowing away too.. I will not be checking back at this thread, so if you have a response, or want to talk to me or something, just add me on myspace. and yah, myspace sucks, so it’ll probably take me like 2-3 weeks to get back to you.

as for me in the past week i have been called a greebo and emo and a goth and i am neither of them….i’m me, yes i may write poetry, but that’s because i like doing it and i plan on maybe making it my career as for music: i listen to mostly rock i’ll admit but i like most of it’s areas, from metal to indie, i even listen to a little classica, my point is that things are not as black and white as people are seeing them, you can be more than just 1 ’scene’ you could be a raggae-indie-kid, or gothic-rap…..i dunno but just stop the labelling and start being you!!!

I’m emo myself and yeah thank all of u guys for sticking up for us. I will admit there are some people that just act emo because they think it is cool, but what ever that is there choice. Emo -yes.
There are two types:
Type A - is where “emo kids” follow the fashion, listen to the music and take great pride in bands, having multiple obsessions with bands like MCR and Hawthorne Heights without listening to any of the supposedly “subliminal messages” that are being put accross in the lyrics…. supposedly.
This is the harmless, happy (enough) type which people so oftenly get confused with type B, picking on type A is enough to turn them into a Type B emo which I will now go onto describe:
Type B are the emo kids that start off like the description I have given above until it gets to a point in ther life where something has gone wrong, and they start taking the “emo lifestyle” waaayyy too seriously to compensate for the pain they recieved through, breakups, family breaksups, or just moodswings. Unfortunatley all this gets exaggerated and the boys and girls find themselfs consolling in no one else except maybe a diary or a very very close best friend (this is.. actually more dangerous and more heartbreaking as suicide pacts get formed like the story of 16 year olds Stephanie Geister and Jodie Gater who took their own lives in the April of last year) self harm begins to become induced into every lyric that relates too well with them , and type B are the stereotypical emo sorts that too oftenly take their own lives.
They dont need your bullshit! They need your help! And as for type a, its just another label - its peoples interests and its not killing them. So stop picking on Emos of both sorts because they’re either just emotionally distressed people or kids who just like to wear black, okay?!!!!!!!!!
