Tattoos Tattoos Tattoos

I’m a little obsessed with tattoos again. Check it out: UV/black light tattos. How fully sick is this tatt? They can be invisible in normal/day light, and glow in different colours under UV. I don’t exactly hang out under places with UV though… (update: I just got a reply from a Tatt Parlour in Darlinghurst that does actually do this!)

There are more examples of this emerging inkform here, and here is another generally funky tattoo site. And just to balance the good vs. bad tattoo tastes here is a site on the worst tattoos.

I’m itching to get my next tatt. Here’s an interesting project some author is doing. A short story she’s written is being tattooed on participants from all over the world. Each participant has one word of the story tattooed. In all, 2095 words need to be inked on 2095 individuals. Point is that the story changes as each word/person dies. Intriguing. 1780 people have already been inked. I’d only do it if I could read the story in advance and really liked it. Wouldn’t mind as long as it wasn’t a very peculiar word… hmmm.

Or better yet, does anyone have a very creative idea to update/improve my current “virgo/83″ one??

Check it out, the new 2006 Big Day Out website’s up, with the new identity & preliminary lineup. www.bigdayout.com

It’s on again: http://picnic.vze.com
I spent most of the afternoon making the one page. It’s been a while since I excercised the old Dreamweaver. Please don’t tell me right now if the divs are floating or you can’t see something. Firefox doesn’t take to the CSS very well, but IE’s being nice today. I’m sick of it. Unngh.

A few drinking fiasco’s in the past few days.
Gemma’s 21st party was last night, and Em’s 21st was the day before that. Happy birthday kids – congratulations on being legal to drink in the US… Good times. Some photos were taken, but will not be posted to spare those involved of shame and embarrassment…

On another note: Miguel Caldern. My fave artist of the week.
His art’s playful and vary – some so very simple (i.e. the coloured wet toilet papers on the ceiling is coooooool). He’s a mexican artist, currently has some work at the 2005 Yokohama Triennale.
